I am Sagree Naicker, a follower of Christ, a wife, Mum, Sister and Friend. I am a Registered Nurse by profession, I was medically boarded at the peak of my career due to auto-immune diseases. After numerous adversities and prolonged hospital stays as a result of these invisible, incurable diseases I found myself lying in bed one day crippled by a lupus flare. I was in torturous pain, had a bald head, depressed and isolated from the life I knew, tears streaming down my face and so I began to talk to God. He took what I had in my hand in that moment which was a pen, a page and a sound mind and placed in my spirit a mandate to share my story with whoever will listen.

I had no qualifications or knowledge on how to write a book but I decided to trust God’s plan and push past my fears and so I took a step of faith into the unknown world of writing, not just to leave a legacy for my children but to let my fellow auto-immune warriors know that there is hope in spite of all the uncertainty we face.
I decided that the only way to dismiss the misconceptions surrounding these illnesses is by creating awareness because people have a tendency to dismiss what they do not understand. I have chosen to live the rest of my life on purpose, and this book is a silent challenge to every fellow auto-immune warrior out there to choose to live, love and find joy in every day that we are blessed with.
